FRESNO, CA Mar. 22, 2018 -- Growing theatre technology company, Broadway Media Distribution (BMD) announces a major industry partnership with Music Theatre International (MTI) and celebrates the local connection to Good Company Players (GCP) with Mamma Mia! the Musical at Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theatre in Fresno’s Tower District.

“Finding a successful company based, in Fresno isn’t hard to do - especially in the agricultural, healthcare, and educational industries, but finding one with the primary focus of New York City’s Broadway; that’s more unique!” says Laura Facciani Sanford, Vice President of BMD.

BMD began in 2013 when Good Company Players’ performer Quentin E. Sanford returned to his hometown to establish the company in downtown Fresno, and despite being 3,000 miles away from the hub of musical theatre, the company continues to thrive, “Nearly five years after starting BMD, I am proud to announce our position as the exclusive creator and distributor of digital scenery for the largest musical publishing agency in the world, Musical Theatre International (MTI)” says Sanford. MTI, based in New York with offices in London and Melbourne, manages the rights hundreds of musicals including Annie, Fiddler on the Roof, Guys and Dolls, Mamma Mia! and the Disney musicals.

The major MTI announcement solidifies BMD as the leading global digital scenery company and comes one year after forming a separate partnership with Theatrical Rights Worldwide (TRW) for their catalog of musicals. Sanford adds “These major industry partnerships have enabled our growing family-business to expand to a team of 12 with staff recruited from Idaho, Michigan and throughout the Central Valley.”

BMD’s products have been featured on more than 5,700 theatre stages worldwide and on March 22, 2018, the world-renowned product comes to Fresno for the first time with Good Company Players’ production of Mamma Mia! , the hilarious Greek island paradise musical set to the songs of ABBA. "From our first conversation I was inspired by the commitment from the BMD staff to make our show, their show, and the best show it could be." says Dan Pessano, Managing Director Good Company Players. BMD’s video backdrops for Mamma Mia! create an expansive 50-foot wide scenic surface on the Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theatre stage, which plays through the end of May. GCP and BMD have been working for months at Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theatre in preparation for the March 22nd opening performance. “Our technicians are the voices over the phone that guide our international customer base, but with Mamma Mia! our team got their hands dirty with the customer experience” says Patrick Nalty, Director of Accounts at BMD.
