Extra, extra! Disney's Newsies JR. now available from Music Theatre International. Learn how Broadway Media’s Scenic Projections can enhance your production.
Stop the presses! Disney's Newsies JR., a 60-minute adaptation of the Broadway musical based on the 1992 film, is now available for licensing through Music Theatre International (MTI). When powerful newspaper publishers raise prices for a group of New York City newsboys, the magnetic Jack Kelly works to inspire the newsies to stand up for themselves by going on strike. A heartwarming tale of friendship and perseverance, Newsies JR. is a family-friendly show guaranteed to inspire audience members of all ages. Newsies JR. also features a Tony Award-winning score by Alan Menken and Jack Feldman with a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein.
As a proud partner of MTI, Broadway Media is thrilled to offer Newsies JR. digital scenery for licensees across the United States, Australia, and New Zealand. Our resources include stunningly rendered Scenic Projections influenced by New York City and interspersed with newsprint-inspired artwork. The 2012 Broadway production relied heavily on projection design to achieve certain effects and assist in moving the plot along; for example, the moment when Katherine types the first news story about the strike was enhanced by a projection of the headline appearing onstage. You won’t have to worry about how to achieve this effect on your own: our Scenic Projections include this moment and many more!
